Fly Fishing for Bass is Not so Farfetched as You Thought

There are a lot of people out there who would vouch that fly fishing for bass is not a possibility. However, there are an equal number of anglers who find that the bass will fall for the fly as often as you want it to. The trick is to do it the right way.

What is the Right Fly Fishing for Bass Technique?

Bass are voracious eaters. This is no secret to anyone. Actually anglers count on its huge appetite to lure him out from its cover and catch him. In this line, the bass will be attracted quite often by large flies. How large, you can decide right on the spot. In order to find out what is the right size of the fly, try tying it with a line and casting it in the water. It will be obvious for you whether it is too big or okay by the way it casts.

Do Not be Scared to Improvise

You find the fly is to large most of the times. In that case immediately trim it along its original dimensions till you find it the ideal weight and size for the perfect casting. In case you cannot trim it according to its original dimension, which is fine too, trim it as you like. Bass are not really capricious about its food looks, as long as it moves along on the water appetizingly. You can also leave the excess deer hair (this is the lightest of all lines) untrimmed as it seems the messier the bait looks the better the bass responds to it.

There is Many More Strategies to Fly Fishing for Bass

Casting the fly is the easy one. Of course you can catch your bass with this technique any day. Actually, with practice you will enjoy making new types of bugs with the trimmer and enjoying the effect it has on the unsuspecting bass. The success rate of catching a bass is exponentially higher if you learn the trick of retrieving the fly across the water in a very tantalizing way.

There is no Better Lure than a Thrashing Lure for Bass

You can enjoy fly fishing for bass really well once you master the technique of retrieving the fly. A fail proof method is to throw it as far as it goes across the water. Once it lands, let it lie still as dead. Then after a respectable time, give it a tiny twitch like it has just revived from the impact; then a stronger second twitch and then pull it haphazardly across to you. This method rarely fails to attract the bass which simply cannot resist a thrashing insect on the water.
